Community Environmental Health Advisory Board (CEHAB)

The Community Environmental Health Advisory Board (CEHAB) is a pilot project established under the 2001 Florida Legislature. CEHAB is a part of the Minority Health Initiatives program (Racial and Ethnic Disparities) within the Department of Health's Office of Equal Opportunity and Minority Health. The project focuses on Minority Health initiative programs at the local level (local counties) and promotes organizations to increase community-based health promotion and disease prevention activities.

health disparities in the communities of Pinellas County. The projects partners in Pinellas County are Willa Carson Health Resource Center, Pinellas County Urban League and the St. Petersburg Free Clinic. The program provides those living in Pinellas County with the following services through prevention, intervention and education: diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular screenings, self-testing materials, support groups, seminars, nutrition/cooking demonstration classes, and case management.
